
The Right Way to Wash Your Hands!
84% of people do not wash their hands correctly.
It is VERY important!
For adults:
STEPS:

Turn on the water and wet your hands

Add soap to hands
-
Rub your hands and lather for 20 seconds

Rinse
-
Use a single use paper towel to dry hands
-
Use towel to turn off water
-
Also use towel to open door handle (since only 16% of people wash their hands correctly!)
For your child:
Situations the Require Hand Washing:
**Post in all places where hand hygiene should be performed.
Before and After:
-
Preparing food or beverages
-
Eating, handling food, or feeding a child
-
Giving meds or applying ointment or cream in which a break in the skin is encountered

Playing in water
-
Diapering
After:

Using toilet or helping a child use toilet

Handling bodily fluids
-
Handling animals or cleaning up animal waste

Playing in sand, outdoors

Cleaning or handling garbage
